Brown stoneware butter bell. Keep you butter in this jar on the bench keeping it soft enough to butter your bread. Just place a little bit of water in the bottom of the jar and place the lid with the butter in the jar with water. A butter bell keeps the butter soft and fresh at room temperature by using a water-filled base to creat an airtight seal that blocks out oxygen and bacteria.

Dishwasher safe, however I recommend washing by hand. The chemicals used can be abrasive over time.
